In vitro analysis of qPCR and Southern blot data demonstrated that the rtL180M/M204V mutant strain displayed a 10- to 12-fold shift in susceptibility to ETV compared with the wild-type virus (Table 4 and Fig. S4), which was similar to previous results with other 3TC-resistant strains (rtL180Q/M204V) (19).
