Evidence	Genetic modification of the HIV-1 capsid at specific positions (N74D and P90A) has been reported to prevent the interaction with capsid-stabilizing cellular cofactors and, thereby, reduce the stability of the viral core, inducing a premature capsid disassembly resulting in a type I IFN response in THP-1 cell line and primary macrophages.
