Furthermore, the previously described R45K and R50K mutations known to selectively abrogate the ability of Vpu to inhibit NF-κB (39) had no significant effect on HLA-C mRNA levels (Fig. 2D) but resulted in increased NF-κB-driven expression of the IFNB gene (Fig. 2E).
