Consistent with our expectations, all six substitutions significantly reduced CD4 downregulation function: V13L by -0.13, V13T by -0.3, V26T by -0.10, L34V by -0.28, I43V by -0.4, and G72E by -0.16 (all P < 0.05)(Fig. 6B).
