Deletion of the PXQXT TRAF-binding motif in CTAR1 (ΔPXQXT), but not mutation of the CTAR2 residue (Y384G) critical for NF-κB activation, resulted in a more progressive loss of EBV genomes, stabilizing at a 90% loss by 46 days (Fig. 2a).
