Firstly, it was found that unassembled capsids were hyper-phosphorylated, in agreement with the phosphorylation status of empty capsids, while assembled capsids, produced from pgRNA encoding for the Y63F mutant DNA polymerase and containing only pgRNA, were mainly hypo-phosphorylated.
