Gene Name BSND
Gene ID 7809
Gene Full Name barttin CLCNK type accessory subunit beta
Gene Alias BART|DFNB73
Transcripts ENSG00000162399
Virus HBV
Gene Type protein-coding
HPA Location Info
Membrane Info Disease related genes, Human disease related genes, Potential drug targets, Predicted membrane proteins, Transporters
Uniport_ID Q8WZ55
HGNC ID HGNC:16512
OMIM ID 606412
Summary This gene encodes an essential beta subunit for CLC chloride channels. These heteromeric channels localize to basolateral membranes of renal tubules and of potassium-secreting epithelia of the inner ear. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Bartter syndrome with sensorineural deafness. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
